Chinese premium electric vehicle brand AVATR has confirmed its Australian launch, with the AVATR 07L SUV set to become its first local model. Pre-orders are scheduled to open before the end of 2026, with first customer deliveries expected during the first half of 2027. The brand will be introduced locally by Changan Group.

AVATR will become the latest Chinese vehicle brand to enter the Australian market, with the 07L selected as its launch model. The electric SUV has already been released overseas and will be offered here in right-hand drive form.
The 07L features a technology-focused cabin centred around the brand's AVATR OS operating system, which the company says has been localised for Australia. Final details on local connectivity features and equipment levels are yet to be announced.
Global versions of the SUV are built on an 800V silicon-carbide electrical platform and use CATL battery technology. The company says Australian powertrain outputs, battery capacity, driving range and charging performance will be confirmed closer to launch.

The 07L's overseas specification also includes a Meridian audio system and a large-format digital display layout, though local equipment levels are still to be finalised.
"We call that Emotive Luxury," said General Manager of Changan Group Australia Bryan Guan when describing the positioning behind the new brand's arrival.
AVATR will reveal the Australian-market 07L before local pre-orders open later in 2026. Pricing and detailed specifications are expected to be announced closer to launch, ahead of first deliveries in 2027.
