Car-makers can make all the steroid-infused go-faster models they want, but the fact remains there will always be customers who want a little bit (or in some cases, a lot) extra.
Enter the latest addition to the catalogue, a car that started life as a Nissan GT-R Black Edition, but which has been tweaked and tuned by Avus Performance (a German tuning house better known for fettling Mercs and Audis) to ramp up its go-and-show credentials to a whole new plane.
The most noteworthy fiddles are the addition of a modified ECU and a special exhaust system (two cats and the middle silencer have been removed), boosting power and torque to 433kW and 700Nm respectively (compared with 362kW and 588Nm for the donor car).
These outputs enable the doctored GT-R to eclipse -- at least on paper -- supercar luminaries such as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 (412kW and 540Nm) and Porsche 911 GT2 (390kW and 680Nm).
Meanwhile, bespoke coilover springs lower the ride height, while wheel spacers fatten up the sinister Godzilla's stance. The 20-inch seven-spoke rims are painted gloss black, complementing the ‘matt black foliation' that adorns the rest of the car.
The whole kit and caboodle costs just over €8000 ($13,350 in our money), and below we've provided a breakdown of how much each of the upgrades costs.
-- Matt black foliation €2499
-- Coilovers €1299
-- Modified ECU €1899
-- Exhaust pipe €998
-- Painted 20-inch wheels €999
-- Wheel spacers €349
Doesn't sound like a whole lot of money to create what would undoubtedly constitute one hell of a road-going track-day special...
