Alfa Romeo is set to reveal a new SUV at the 2019 Geneva motor show that will slot below the existing Stelvio.
Speaking to motor1.com, a senior Alfa Romeo exec admitted the Italian car-maker had "something new up our sleeves" for the Swiss show, adding the car it plans to reveal would be a "glimpse into the next chapter of Alfa Romeo's legendary story".
The insider didn't confirm the exact model, but the timings of the Geneva show suggests the car in question will be sub-Stelvio compact SUV that could be based either on the same platform as the Jeep Renegade or a shortened version of the same Giorgio platform that underpins both the Giulia and Stelvio.
Others have suggested the "glimpse into the next chapter" refers to a more radical concept that could provide pointers for the styling of the next Giulietta, a larger SUV or even the forthcoming flagship GTV and 8C supercar.
It's hoped Alfa Romeo will begin teasing the car it has in store for the Geneva show in a matter of days.
