British car-maker, BAC, has revealed its refreshed Mono fresh from its first outing at last month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
For its 2016 model year revisions, out goes the old 208kW 2.3-litre Cosworth-developed Ford Duratec four-cylinder and in comes a larger 2.5-litre version of the same engine, but this time re-engineered by fellow British motorsport engine builder, Mountune.
Weighing in at just 580kg -- around 40kg heavier than the last model -- BAC hasn’t quoted performance figures gor the road-legal Mono, but expect it to beat the old car’s blistering 2.8-second sprint to 100km/h and for it to crack 300km/h (depending on final gearing).
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed the new 2.5-litre Mono clocked the fastest run of the weekend -- posting a 47.9-second time -- beating many supercars and hypercars and even scoring the outright record for a road car up the hill. The car that previously held that honourwas a specially prepared Nissan GT-R.
