Bargain pricing for T-Jet Punto

Step right up folks if it's a Fiat Punto Sport you're hankering for.

Until the end of March this year the three-door, 1.4-litre turbo petrol T-Jet, which is the fastest local Punto, will be offered for a driveaway figure of $22,900. This, claims local importer Ateco, represents a $5750 saving off the normal price.

The three-door Sport shares a five-star Euro NCAP rating with all other Puntos and comes with stability control, six airbags, follow-me-home lights, hill-holder, 17-inch alloys and a body kit with side skirts, rear spoiler and chrome exhaust outlet. Handling is sharpened via a sports-tune suspension.

The cockpit isn't bad either with sports seats and instrument panel, leather steering wheel and gearknob, cruise control and air-conditioning.

The Punto T-Jet uses an 88kW/206Nm turbo version of the regular 57kW 1.4-litre petrol engine and manages a creditable zero to 100km/h acceleration of 8.9 seconds, along with a thrifty consumption average of 6.6l/100km. The CO2 emissions figure is a clean 155g/km.
