Chinese tech giant Le Eco has revealed its Tesla Model S rival ahead of its official reveal at the Beijing motor show.
The new pure-electric sedan, called the LeSEE (which stands for The Super Electric Ecosystem), was originally set to be unveiled on April 25 but was revealed late last night in a televised press conference.
So far, not much is known about the LeSEE other than it has a top speed of 210km/h and can be charged using wireless chargers.
In the video (below) shown at the press conference it’s also possible to see the concept has rear suicide doors.
Inside, the company teases an interior that has car seats that adapt to passengers’ bodies. There are also touch-screen TVs that broadcast Le Eco’s cloud-based entertainment system.
It’s already been announced that Aston Martin is working with the Le Eco is some capacity and rumours are rife that the forthcoming DBX SUV could share parts of its pure-electric powertrain.
As well as the British car-maker, Le Eco is also working with fellow fledgling electric car start-up, Faraday Future, and combined, all three firms claim to have filed an incredible 833 patents last year.
In the press conference, Le Eco’s CEO Jia Yueting demonstrated the LeSEE’s self-driving capability, carrying out self-parking manoeuvres that were initiated using voice commands.
In the future, Le Eco’s vision is of LeSEE sedans forming a fleet of autonomous taxis with their front LED daytime running lights to advertise their availability.
If you’re not familiar with Le Eco, the firm used to be called Le TV and has been billed as China’s Netflix.
Owned by Jin Yueting, it’s been reported that the CEO cashed-in $1.6 billion of his own personal shares to develop the Tesla rival.
