Bentley Bacalar two-seat layout teased

Wild coach-built Bacalar to be strictly two-seat, set to be based on the Continental GT

A second tease of the Bentley Bacalar has revealed the luxury British car-maker plans to unveil a two-seat sports car at next week's Geneva motor show.

Set to become a mobile advert for Bentley's in-house Mulliner bespoke division, the latest preview follows on from last week's tease of its all-new 10-spoke alloy wheels

Claimed to have been created under the mantra "Grand Touring at its most exhilarating", it's thought the Bacalar will be a rebodied version of the current Continental GT that could be inspired by last year's EXP 100 GT.

The EXP 100 GT was the car Bentley rolled out for its centenary that featured brash overtly sporting styling.

That car featured a pure-electric powertrain but for the Bacalar it's expected the powerful droptop will stick to the Continental's twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 that should push out even more power than the regular car's 473kW and 900Nm of torque.

With that in mind, the Bacalar could become the fastest Bentley ever made if the coach-built Mulliner creation manages to shed some of the Conti GT's excess baggage.

It's not been confirmed, but others are reporting that when it's launched at the Geneva motor show the Bacalar will cost £1.5 million (plus taxes.)
