Bentley has released a teaser image of what's thought to be the upcoming long-wheelbase Bentley Bentayga, announcing that the still-secret new model will be fully unwrapped on May 10.
Adding fuel to rumours that the new model will be the longer Bentayga is the official statement in a short Instagram video that refers to an "extra dimension of on-board wellness".
The teaser also shows a door card with purple ambient lighting and diamond-shaped chrome trim that relocates the door handles.
This has led some to suggest the teaser previews an unexpected new model from the British brand.
If it's the LWB Bentayga, the stretched Bentley SUV is a long-time coming.
Since the Bentayga was first launched back in 2015, Bentley has not yet offered an extended- or long-wheelbase version.
If it does materialise, the stretched SUV is set to introduce a pair of airline-style rear seats that will help it offer the levels of second-row luxury and comfort that until now have been the preserve of the Flying Spur limo.
Under the bonnet, expect the LWB Bentayga to come with the same powertrains.
If so, they'll offer the choice of a 404kW/770Nm 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, a mightier-still 467kW 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 and the recently introduced 330kW/700Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 plug-in hybrid that should offer an electric-only range of around 40km.
It's thought further teasers released in the coming days ahead of its May 10 debut will confirm the longer Bentley Bentayga's arrival.
