The Aston Martin Red Bull 001, or AM-RB 001, looks set to become the undisputed, undoubted, unquestionable champion of the road-car world. A McLaren P1 and Bugatti Chiron-slaying machine of epic proportions, it'll set a new benchmark for a long time to come thanks to design solutions straight out of the F1 paddock.
Imagine a car that can develop enough g-force to once and for all make your significant other stop talking… or better yet offer a small retractable wall that blocks them off entirely!
The AM-RB 001 will be powered by a mad V12 engine with some form of electrification, most likely an ultra-capacitor than can quickly charge and discharge massive amounts of extra power to the tune of 1000hp (745kW).
And if you were wondering why Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo is staying with Red Bull Racing and not moving to Ferrari or Mercedes, this car could be that reason. In all seriousness, the Aussie F1 ace is dead keen to help fine-tune the AM-RB 001 and is no doubt hoping to get his name on the list of lucky buyers, which is three times oversubscribed.
Ultimately, when the AM-RB 001 ultra-car launches in 2018 for 2019 customer deliveries, it's going to redefine the meaning of the phrase 'road legal' as Red Bull engineering guru Adrian Newey pushes every single road regulation to its limit.
Think of it as an F1 car for the road but with more techno-doodads than Google's secret underground R&D lab. Each car will be hand crafted for its driver and each car will be a collector's item that will skyrocket in value.
With no more than 150 vehicles being built, it could be the most significant performance car to grace God's good earth.
