And both are significantly changed and larger than the existing models.
The third-generation, five-door RAV4 looks tougher than its predecessor and sports a Renault Megane-style stepped roofline and more shapely rear.
The also-curvier Yaris - already onsale in Japan as the Vitz - steps up a size to further differentiate it from the Aygo mini car recently launched in Japan.
Both vehicles also get significantly upgraded interiors, with the teaser photos of the RAV4's showing silver-look highlights and a stylish instruments binnacle and steering wheel-mounted controls. We can't tell you any more, because Toyota's hasn't issued specifics... just the photos.
However, strong rumours in the European press are that there'll be a V6 engine in the new RAV4 range, together with a new version of the existing 2.4-litre four-cylinder and a turbo-diesel.
Another strong rumour doing the rounds in Europe involves a 1.6-litre engine option for the Yaris, a sizeable step up from the Echo's 1.3-litre. The bigger engine, according to the rumour mill, will come from the Corolla.
The Yaris/Echo also is said to get a Prius-style keyless fob and starter button.
Toyota Australia won't confirm local launch dates for the new models, although don't be surprised to see one - or both - of them at next month's Sydney motor show. If not, they're a strong chance for the Melbourne motor show, in March.
The new RAV4 and Yaris will share Toyota's Frankfurt stand with a couple of fascinating concepts, the Endo micro car and ultra quirky i-unit personal transport - the latter, perhaps unkindly, described in print by one wag as a "motorised hairdresser's chair".
