Blitzen pricing announced

Subaru's latest performance special doesn't come cheap

Subaru has announced pricing of its limited edition Liberty Blitzen. Based on the Liberty 3.0R Spec B and featuring body and standard equipment upgrades, only 200 Blitzen will be offered to Australian customers.

This is the first time the model variant has been made available Down Under.

The Blitzen will be available in both wagon and sedan form in auto and manual variants and kicks off at $54,980 for the manual sedan. Two colours will be offered: bright red and obsidian black

The other Blitzen models are priced as follows: manual wagon $57,480; automatic sedan $53,980; and automatic wagon $56,480.

The Blitzen features a 180kW six-cylinder engine. A popular limited edition model in Subaru's domestic Japenese market, the car also gets unique 18-inch alloys, leather and alcantara seats and a new 'face' courtesy of a model-specific grille.

The Spec B's Bilstein suspension is also carried over to the Blitzen.
