Only weeks after the BMW Concept 5 Series GT made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show the company has unveiled the production model on its video website, BMW-web.tv. The site is fast becoming the German manufacturer's main method of releasing its latest offerings.
Project leader Hans-Jurgen Branz details the new model but unfortunately he does it in German; and BMW hasn't offered a translation yet. Not that there appear to be many changes to discuss.
The only noticeable changes to the exterior are the wing mirror attachments. The concept used a stylish blade while the production version relies on the traditional bulky stalk.
A brief glimpse of the interior confirms a more conventional leather finish replaces the Concept's heavily styled fabric and trim. Unfortunately there isn't any footage of the car's most important areas, the rear seats and boot.
BMW is obviously keeping the rear end a secret until a later date to keep fans in suspense. We'll keep you posted.
