BMW Alpina's 447kW B7 Bi-Turbo super-limousine is now available in Australia for a cool $369,720 plus on-road costs — $80,000 more than the 750i sedan on which it's based.
The move follows the release of the BMW 3 Series-based Alpina B3 sedan and wagon and the 4 Series-based B4 BiTurbo coupe and convertible in November.
At that time, Alpina Automobiles Australia, which is based at BMW Doncaster in Victoria and supported by BMW Group Australia, forecast the release of a third Alpina model in the B7.
Based on BMW latest 7 Series and offered with a three-year, 200,000km warranty, the B7 is powered by an Alpina-fettled 447kW/800Nm 4.4-litre twin-turbo petrol V8.
Delivering some 670Nm of torque from just 2000rpm, the force-fed V8 propels the big sedan to 100km/h in a claimed 4.2 seconds on its way to a 330km/h top speed.
On top of BMW's rear-wheel Integral Active Steering system, the B7 is available here with the deal-fit option of a Drexler Motorsport limited-slip differential, as fitted to 20 per cent of all Alpina models sold in Europe.
Standard Alpina extras for the B7 include a special Sport+ mode that optimises the dynamic performance of drivetrain and (two-axle air) suspension settings and lowers the ride height by 20mm at the touch of a button.
There's also an active Alpina stainless steel sports exhaust system with two twin outlets, Alpina Classic 21-inch 20-spoke forged wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, hand-trimmed Lavalina leather steering wheel with blue/green stitching and a full-colour, three-mode digital Alpina instrument panel.
Two luxury interior colour schemes are available (Piano lacquer or Myrtle luxury wood) along with two unique metallic paint finishes – Alpina Blue and Alpina Green.
