BMW announces upgrade for two-door 3 Series

BMW has released its revised 3 Series Coupe and Convertible to the Australian market with a host of design, technology, engine and suspension changes.

The instantly recognisable 3 Series has retained the same body as the previous model with distinguishable changes made to the front end's now larger kidney grilles and lower air intakes, revised headlamps with daytime running lights, LED indicators and reshaped eyebrow line. At the rear, new 'L' shaped tail lamps feature twin horizontal diffusers over LED lamps, the lens also redder in colour than the previous multi-coloured example.

Engine specifications have been altered to mirror changes on the 3 Series sedan, the four examples on offer (320d, 325i, 330d and 335i) delivering much the same output, fuel and emissions tallies as their four door siblings.

Suspension changes see the revised Coupe and Convertible models receive new shock absorbers (dampers) on most models that allow a more compliant ride at lower and mid-level speeds without affecting high speed stability.

As with most mid-life upgrades, the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible has received a number of paint, trim and alloy wheel additions, the details of which will be outlined in our launch report shortly.
