BMW has released a new video teaser that shows its next-generation 3 Series being built at the car-maker's Dingolfing plant, in Germany.
Revealing more of the seventh-generation Mercedes C-Class rival than ever before, the short film details the new 3 Series being built but stops short of revealing the entire car.
Looking like the mid-size premium sedan will, once again, tread the evolutionary path, these images suggest the 'G20' 3 Series will feature a pair of slimline rear tail-lights with L-shaped LED graphics similar to the ones on the new BMW Z4 roadster.

Set to be revealed ahead of its global public debut early next month at the Paris motor show, the new BMW 3 Series will be based on the car-maker's modular CLAR platform, which shaves around 55kg from the kerb weight of the current car.
All 2019 3 Series models will come with advanced aerodynamics and a slippery drag coefficient of just 0.23Cd, and the majority will bag what BMW's claims is the most powerful four-cylinder engine ever fitted to one of its production models.
Both four-cylinder and six-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines will again be available, with most engines combined with an updated version of the current car's ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic.

Expected to arrive in Australia in the first half of 2019, the new 3 Series has already been seen testing at the Nurburgring, where the wider, lower, lighter sedan is claimed to be better balanced and far more agile than its predecessor.
Weight distribution for the rear-wheel drive sedan remains 50:50.

In an effort to ensure class-leading handling, BMW says it has developed clever new dampers that offer a smooth ride but a sporty drive.
For those who prefer sportier-still handling, an M sports suspension package will also be on the options list, as well as more powerful brakes (as seen in the video) and a limited-slip differential for better traction.
