BMW has announced its pure-electric i3 hatch will soon be available with a more powerful 42.2kWh battery option that's claimed to boost its range by 30 per cent.
Set to go on sale in Europe this November, the updated BMW i3 is claimed to now be capable of covering up to 260km between charges under the new WLTP test cycle.
As well as the new batteries, BMW has also introduced LED matrix headlights and a sports pack that adds lower and firmer sports suspension, wider wheel tracks and new 20-inch alloy wheels.
Other changes include an updated infotainment system, the introduction of wireless charging and an onboard WIFI hotspot.
Like before, the updated i3 range comes with the option of either a 125kW or 135kW electric motor. With the latter fitted, the i3 can hit 100km/h in 6.9 seconds.
