Adding even more exclusivity to BMW's sports-oriented M3 Coupé and Sedan, the limited production Pure Edition has this week been announced for the Australian market.
With only 100 BMW M3 Pure Edition models up for grabs, buyers will need to be M3-quick to score a place in the hot seat.
The Pure Edition focusses its enhancements on bolstering the M3's athletic appeal, adding 19-inch M double-spoke light alloy wheels and bonnet scope finished exclusively in high-gloss black, plus BMW Individual kidney grille, side gills and exhaust tips finished in dark chrome.
Offered in Alpine White and Black, the Pure Edition can also be specified in a range of other M3 colours, while standard upholstery is Anthracite cloth with black leather while headrests are crafted from black Novillo leather and are embossed with the BMW M symbol.
Like other M3 Coupés, the Pure Edition also features a lightweight carbon-fibre roof.
Under the bonnet, and again like other M3 models, the Pure Edition boasts a 309kW/400Nm V8 engine, rocketing the Coupé from rest to 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds (4.9 seconds for the Sedan), while still achieving respectable fuel economy of only 12.4L/100km (combined, EU test cycle).
All M3s, including the Pure Edition, feature the signature variable M differential lock -- with up to 100 per cent locking action with fully variable action whenever required - which provides perfect traction for the rear wheels.
Brake energy regeneration as well as automatic start / stop function are also standard across the entire M3 range, as well as high-performance ventilated and perforated compound disc brakes.
Customer deliveries are expected to commence early next year.
