Just hours after releasing full details and pics of the upcoming BMW 4 Series range, the German car-maker's performance division has launched a range of performance enhancements for the new mid-size coupe.
Created specifically for the flagship M440i xDrive, the BMW M Performance parts include a whole host of carbon-fibre aero add-ons designed to dial up the sportiness of the car-maker's Audi A5 rival.
Despite being designed for the fastest M440i, the new dealer-fit parts will no doubt migrate to lesser models like the 420i and 430i too.
Previewing some of the extra visual aggression to come from the 2021 BMW M4 Coupe, the parts released include a carbon-fibre grille surround, side air intake fins and a new deep splitter up front.
Some weird black M Performance rub strips for the doors also make an appearance, as well a subtle boot lid spoiler and rear diffuser finisher, all made from the lightweight composite material.
Inside, yet more carbon-fibre is available for the centre console, M Sport steering wheel spokes and paddles, and elsewhere within the cabin.
There's no claim on whether the external carbon add-ons actually improve the M440i’s aerodynamics, but two options that will appeal to those who like to drive fast are the bigger BMW M Sport brakes and the larger multi-spoke 20-inch alloy wheel option that's thought to reduce unsprung mass.
BMW is yet to announced prices for the new M Performance accessories but it's thought the parts will be available when the new BMW 4 Series arrives Down Under this October.
