BMW will commence local deliveries of the 'Black Fire' limited-edition X5 M and X6 M models from October, the prestige importer has revealed today.
Priced at $205,900 for the X5 M and $214,800 for the X6 M, the Black Fire models are finished in Sapphire Black metallic paint and feature dark carbon-fibre mirror shells, a blacked-out grille and 21-inch black alloy wheels. Inside, the multi-function BMW M seats with integrated heardrests are trimmed in full-grain Merino leather in Black and Mugello Red. Stitching is contrasting red, applied throughout the cabin. Complementing the leather, the Alcantara headlining (in anthracite) and other soft materials is piano-black gloss lacquer trim.
Mechanically, the drivetrains are unchanged, producing 423kW and 750Nm from the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 for a 4.2-second 0-100km/h time.
BMW Australia has secured 25 units for the local market, and deliveries will commence from October. Of that total, 15 comprise X5 M and the remaining 10 are X6 M variants.
"I am very excited to introduce these Black Fire limited editions to the Australian market," says BMW Australia CEO, Marc Werner.
"The X5 and X6 M are equally capable on the race track, when commuting or when taking the family out on the weekend – I should know, because I drive them personally. With these awesome Black Fire editions, the BMW X5 M and X6 M are more appealing than ever."
