BMW's fastest-ever soft-top, the 507hp, 373kW M6 Convertible has arrived Down Under. In fact, the first of the cars have already been delivered to local customers.
Boasting a 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds and equally impressive in-gear acceleration, the M6 Convertible is priced at the princely sum of $296,000… Plus ORCs, of course.
"The arrival of the new M6 Convertible gives us our largest and most diverse range of M Cars in Australia," says National Special Vehicle Sales Manager, Paul Ferrari.
"The M6 Convertible is the fastest ever soft-top BMW M car, and one of the most exclusive. It is the ideal combination of Formula 1 drive-train technology and wind-in the hair motoring.
"In fact, you could say it is even closer to the full Formula 1 experience than the M6 Coupé, since both the BMW Sauber F1.06 and the M6 Convertible are open to the elements. The M6 advantage is four seats over the single-seater F1.06!" BMW's Ferrari said.
It goes without saying the M6 soft-top is comprehensively equipped (to read more on the standard M6 click here). Its automatic roof takes around 25sec to stow -- longer than it takes the car to "demolish" the standing kilometre!
Four exclusive metallic paint colours are offered (Sepang Bronze, Silverstone II, Indianapolis Red and Interlagos Blue) or you can opt for the standard M colours including Alpine White, Sapphire Black metallic, Silver Grey metallic, Monaco Blue, Stratos Grey and "various BMW Individual colour choices."
If we were you we'd check with the neighbours what colour they're going for... It wouldn't do to have two M6s in the same colour in the same street after all...
