BMW has released a new teaser trailer of its upcoming Vision EfficientDynamics concept car, which will headline its display at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show.
The new vehicle will be a showcase for several new EfficientDynamics technologies that will eventually filter their way down into production models. BMW, in adopting the "vision" moniker, has also eschewed the company's previous naming conventions which used "concept" to name pre-production or prototype models.
The video shows what is presumably the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics vehicle almost silently navigating its way down a winding road, which adds weight to rumours that the car will be a pure electric concept.
With cryptic phrases such as "we do not build cars" and "we are the creators of emotion," the video is the first official evidence of the highly anticipated vehicle which will spearhead BMW's EfficientDynamics long-term product line-up.
There is a short glimpse of the rear section of the vehicle in the video clip where you can see a portion of the right-hand seat headrest (suggesting it could be a two-seater coupe). It also shows a 'floating' brake light surrounded by a section of the rear aero spoiler that flows around from the roof, suggesting that BMW's new concept is going be one of its wildest designs yet.
The anticipation is building and it looks like we're going to get a very stylised, very conceptual 'vision'.
Stay tuned for more.
