A State Funeral will be held for Peter Brock on Tuesday September 19 at St Paul's Anglican Cathedral, as well as a public memorial service at Sandown International Motor Raceway on Friday September 22.
Victorian Premier Steve Bracks made the announcement at 11am today in Melbourne.
Bracks said: "All Victorians and all Australians obviously want to pay tribute to Peter Brock and the legacy which he left, of course, as a champion of road safety, as someone who was king of the mountain, top of motorsport in Australia, whose record will probably never be beaten in the Bathurst event in any year and, of course, someone who championed the cause of saving lives on our roads."
A private service for the family and a cremation will follow the state funeral, which itself will be telecast live around Australia.
The Sandown event will be a celebration of Peter's life and allow his many fans to say goodbye.
The Victorian Government will also work with the Peter Brock Foundation to establish a tribute to the racing legend.
