Bugatti teases Vision Gran Turismo racer again

French hypercar-maker shows off two more teases of virtual concept

Bugatti has teased yet another aerodynamic detail from the all-new virtual hypercar concept that it will reveal at next month's Frankfurt motor show.

Revealed on its official Twitter feed under the hashtag “imaginebugatti”, the new image is of both a snap of the the racer’s nose and an aggressive, carbon-fibre rear wing that features an LMP1 racer-style twin slat “breathing” feature that is thought to optimise disturbance and reduce lift around the rear of the virtual racer.

For non-gamers the new Vision concept, when revealed, is hoped to provide a future glimpse of how the Veyron-replacing Chiron is shaping up.

Already spotted during testing in the US, the new Chiron is thought to feature a heavily-revised 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 from the current car with the additional feature of hybrid assistance and, possibly, electric-driven turbochargers -- a technology the VW Group is heavily investing in.

VV Group boss Martin Winterkorn has already publicly stated that a hybrid Chiron would be offered alongside turbo-petrol models, and power is expected to be hiked from the outgoing Veyron’s from 883kW to more than 1100kW.

Based on a new carbon-fibre monocoque, the next Bugatti will once again be a luxurious two-seater vehicle despite the incredible performance on tap.

Sales are not expected until 2018, but a preview of the new model could happen late in 2016 or early in 2017. Expect a seven-figure price tag.
