carsales has this week launched ‘Buy from home’, a new initiative that groups a number of services to help car buyers engage in frictionless sales transactions without leaving home.
Building on the success of carsales Badges, ‘Buy from home vehicles allow car buyers to package home test drives, finance applications, trade-in valuations, remote payments and driveway deliveries.
‘Buy from home’ badging now appears at search level, allowing consumers to quickly refine their vehicle shortlist, and progressive car dealers have not wasted time adopting carsales’ latest innovation.
More than 28,000 ‘Buy from home’ badges were added to dealer inventory on carsales within 48 hours of the feature’s launch and the growing list now includes everything from a cheap and cheerful used Toyota Corolla to a brand-new $1.95 million McLaren Senna!
“With travel restrictions still in play, it’s not surprising to see that ‘Buy from home’ and ‘Delivery available’ are now the most searched badges on carsales,” says carsales Product and Experience Director, Ryan Svaghi.
“We know from our onsite surveys that almost 20 per cent of respondents are looking to buy a car right now.”
Svaghi says Australia’s COVID-19 experience will accelerate the change in buying habits and the way businesses and consumers engage for the long-term.
“After months of online purchasing journeys, the way consumers want to buy goods and services is unlikely to return to what it was. The feedback I’m hearing is that consumers are enjoying the convenience of well executed online transactions.”
