BYD has unveiled the second-generation Seal 07 in China, giving its large sedan a significant size increase, fresh styling and updated electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains. While the model could eventually reach Australia, there is no confirmation from BYD at this stage.

The new Seal 07 is 85mm longer and 50mm wider than the model it replaces, bringing it closer in size to larger executive sedans and promising improved interior space.
Styling has been updated with BYD's latest design language, including wave-shaped headlights, a full-width tail-light bar, semi-hidden door handles and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit that points to the availability of the brand's God’s Eye B driver-assistance system.

The plug-in hybrid pairs a 115kW 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 160kW electric motor and a 38.0kWh battery, delivering a claimed 245km electric-only range.
A battery-electric version will offer a 300kW rear-mounted motor, up to 718km of WLTP driving range and a claimed top speed of 240km/h.
Despite speculation the model could arrive here as the Seal 7, BYD has yet to confirm Australian plans.
