Mercedes-Benz Australia's announcement of details and pricing of its most-expensive non-AMG model line-up yet has been overshadowed by leaked photos of the marque's volume-selling C-Class replacement.
The company announced pricing for the new three-model CL-Class range (CL 600 pictured) this afternoon, however, by this evening Benz aficionados were more interested in shots of the new C-Class range circulating on the web. The shots were scooped in the form of a leaked official brochure uploaded by US website, Left Lane News (also pictured).
According to the leaked brochure published on LLNs, the new C-Class will be equipped with a complete range of powerplants -- from a new direct-injected 1.8-litre four-cylinder powerplant through to a stonking 350kW-plus 6.2-litre V8.
The new car features much more aggressive and sportier lines to boot.
It is anticipated that Mercedes would announce details of the new C-Class range -- at least in 'Vision' concept form at March's Geneva Motor Show. Now CarPoint can reveal the company plans to unveil the new W204 model C-Class tomorrow evening, German time.
The reveal will take place at Mercedes-Benz World, the new Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
Meantime, Australian pricing and details have been confirmed for the CL range of two-door super-coupes. Dubbed a "two-door S-Class" by some pundits, the new CL range kicks off with the CL 500 at $308,000 with the CL 63 AMG priced at $383,000 and the range-topping V12 biturbo CL 600 pegged at $389,000.
The latter is Mercedes-Benz most expensive non-AMG badged car. It is a hefty $19,100 more than the similarly-engine S 600 L. That said, the new CL 63 AMG is an even bigger $76,900 less than the current AMG range-topper, the $459,900 CL 65 AMG.
And no, these aren't drive-away prices… Don't forget to add, on road costs and so on…
