C5 adopts Teutonic style

Citroen's next C5 model will boast more presence through a lower, wider stance and some German-looking sculpture lines

The next C5 from Citroen will feature some of the exciting styling cues from the C5 Airscape concept previewed in Frankfurt and based on the first photos, the new C5's looks will be even more dramatic than the show car's.

Set for a local launch sometime during the third quarter of next year, the ground-breaking new model will be available in both sedan and wagon body styles, with the latest iteration of the company's renowned 'Hydractive' (hydro-pneumatic) suspension, 'Hydractive 3 Plus', operating in a double-wishbone front and multi-link rear configuration.

Specification and pricing for Australia won't be decided for some time yet, but the C5 will likely feature up to nine airbags when it arrives here.

A selection of three petrol engines and four diesel engines will be available in different global markets and the C5 will be sold with V6 engines in either petrol or diesel induction form, the other engines available being fours in different capacities and states of tune.
