Prospective buyers for the Citroen C5 will be able to get a close look at the new model in a matter of weeks. Ateco Automotive, the distributor for Citroen in Australia has procured the first shipment of cars six weeks earlier than originally planned and the cars will now officially retail from September 6.
"Our plan was to launch the new C5 in October," says Miles Williams, General Manager for Citroen in Australia, "but we have managed to have our first installment of production earlier than planned and this has enabled us to pull forward our launch by more than six weeks."
The new car will introduce a turbodiesel V6 engine displacing 2.7 litres and developing 150kW of power plus 440Nm of torque. Ateco expects the model mix for the new car to at least match the 85 per cent diesel take-up for the current car in the local market.
