The CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship continues to progress from concept to reality, and a new website launching at 4pm today is the latest milestone along the way.
Aimed at delivering news, driver profiles and live lap times, the new website – www.formula4.com.au – is a marketing prop for the category, which replaces Formula Ford in Australia as an entree to the higher echelons of open-wheel motorsport, like F3 and F1.
One of the drivers entering the Formula 4 championship this year is DREAM Motorsport's Thomas Randle. In a press release issued by CAMS today, announcing the new website, Randle expressed his hope that F4 will be a springboard for him to get to Europe and pursue a career in F1.
"My ultimate goal is to become a Formula 1 World Champion, that's my ultimate goal and I think Formula 4 will help me," Randle said.
"Lots of laps and a big learning curve, and we are going to get to some good tracks, going to be with V8 Supercars which will supply some great publicity and if I ultimately win the championship the next step would be to go overseas next year."
The new website is going live just four weeks ahead of the first round of the championship in Townsville on July 10.
