I live by the motto that laughter is the best medicine because sometimes if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry. So I take every opportunity to sprinkle some humour into my everyday life.
Last week when driving a friend home from a party (great friend brownie points, I know) he noticed and chuckled at my George Costanza air freshener. It got me thinking, what else could I add to my car to get the laughs I so desperately crave?
After a dig around the internet, we’ve rounded up some of the funniest car accessories that are guaranteed to make your passengers laugh, if not at the very least impress them.

This saucy little sauce holder slots easily into your aircon vent and is the perfect accessory for your next Maccas drive-through visit. Imagine offering your passenger a little throne for their Sweet ‘n’ Sour sauce so they can nibble on their chicken nuggets more easily. They could also use it to hold other inferior Macca’s sauce options. Yes, that’s right, I think Sweet ‘n’ Sour is the best on offer and won’t hear otherwise.
You can even go the whole shebang as a snack enthusiast and get yourself this chicken nugget keychain.

A TikTok video has recently gone viral of someone using a tapered PVC pipe from Bunnings as a cupholder extension to fit their 1L Frank Green bottle into the centre cup holder. Many cup holder owners know that big drink bottles and slurpy cups do not easily fit.

This accessory will serve you in two ways. First, it will be super functional for those of you who understand the struggle of having a massive water bottle with nowhere to put it in the car. And secondly, you’ll get a laugh from your passengers when they see how savvy you are. That is unless your passenger is a plumber and is annoyed because there’s now a shortage of this pipe they need for work. You might need to sternly tell them that under no circumstances are they allowed to take it.

For more anxious or newer drivers who dread the idea of merging in peak-hour traffic, we have the “please let me merge before I start crying decal” or another personal favourite of mine “bestie please let me merge”. The thing with these exact decals is that your target demographic will have a giggle, but in my experience with my parents you could be met with the stern question of “Why are strangers on the road your bestie?”. Still worth the gamble in my opinion.

If you have a scratch on your car you’ve been meaning to fix but haven’t gotten around to it, we’ve found the perfect band-aid sticker to literally mask your problem. This funny bandaid decal will cover that damage right up and doubles as a fun way to acknowledge your little ding. We wouldn’t recommend this as a permanent fix however but rather a funny short-term reminder for you to visit your local panel beater. I chuckle every time I see the one on my roommates' Hyundai i30, the novelty hasn’t worn off even after five months.
