On arguably the biggest stage in advertising, you need big names.
At least, that appears the theme transcending advertisements for this year’s annual Super Bowl match.
Car-makers have enlisted serious celebrity power in a bid to make their campaigns stand out from competitors during the broadcast.
While merely an entrée to the Atlanta Falcons taking on the New England Patriots in Houston, Texas, the ads provide an interesting backdrop to the game. Especially for non-NFL fans.
The respective marketing campaigns are also set to reap huge rewards for television networks. In 2016, the Super Bowl coverage attracted around 167 million sets of eyes across the world. As such, a 30 second commercial averaged around $6.6 million.
For this year’s onslaught, familiar faces include Miranda Kerr, Super Bowl quarterback Cam Newtown, dancer Lil’ Buck, actress Mellissa McCarthy and the Coen Brothers, who directed Mercedes’ latest campaign.
