The votes have been cast and the winner of the carsales NOVA cartales competition has been decided.
After fierce public voting over the past two weeks, Chris Zito from West Australia was deemed to have submitted the nation’s best ‘cartale’ video and for his efforts has claimed $20,000 towards his next car.
Chris’s story is one of coincident and fate. In 2002 he was looking for a Monaro just like the one his dad sold a decade earlier. Chris and his dad saw one advertised, went and looked at it and, unbelievably, it turned out to be his dad’s old Monaro.
They bought the car on the spot and were thrilled to have the old girl back in her rightful home.
The inaugural carsales NOVA cartales competition attracted more than 1300 entries, which were narrowed down to just two finalists two weeks ago.
Voters went into the draw to win a $200 fuel voucher for each day of voting and the winning 45-second video was announced by Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald on tonight’s Nova FM drive program in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Designed to celebrate Aussies’ love of their cars and the role cars play in our lives, the carsales NOVA cartales competition builds on carsales’ own television campaign.
“There are so many great car tales out there, we thought we'd like to be able to get them in one place for everyone to share,” carsales.com Ltd marketing boss Vladka Kazda said.
