CAYMAN SPECIAL gets the all-black look

Porsche will build only 777 of the mid-engined coupes, incorporating several design disciplines and styling cues that emphasise what it says is the Cayman’s purist nature.

Black leather and Alcantara upholstery harmonises with refined details, like the instruments whose layout reflects that of all Porsche Design chronograph timepieces.

The centre console, fascia console, and door trims are black, and the three-spoke sports steering wheel, gear lever, handbrake grip, and roof lining are clothed in non-slip black Alcantara. The Porsche logo crest is embossed on the seat headrests.

Each car will carry an identifying badge on the glovebox lid.

Porsche has lowered the car’s ride height by 10mm, and standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) automatically controls the firmness of the dampers and features a special Sport mode that can be activated at the touch of a button for an enhanced dynamic driving feel.

Five-millimetre wide axle spacers combined with 19-inch Turbo wheels give the Porsche Design Edition 1 a purposeful stance that is reinforced yet further by 235/35 ZR 19 tyres on the front axle and 265/35 ZR 19 tyres at the rear.
