Celebration of the Motorcar
Some of Australia's most treasured cars to be rolled out for a new event in AprilCar enthusiasts will be treated to a special event to be held in the beautifully landscaped grounds of the Carrick Hill mansion in Springfield, South Australia, on Sunday April 27 this year.
Claimed to be an unprecedented display of around 130 prestige, exotic and classic cars collectively worth around $20 million, the Celebration of the Motorcar is a charity event involving the Rotary Club of Adelaide and the National Motor Museum.
Project Chairman for the Rotary Club of Adelaide, Robin Turner, said: “Our club is very excited by what the Celebration of the Motorcar will bring to the people of Adelaide. We've got some incredibly special cars in our state and this will be a unique opportunity for people to see 130 of them, beautifully displayed.”
In addition to a selection of cars from interstate, the National Motor Museum will also be providing some of its finest cars, which are rarely seen in public.
Event director and creator Paul Blank from Automotive Events Management has run motoring events in Europe and around Australia over the last two decades and was responsible for the 1993 Celebration of the Motorcar in Perth. He said the Adelaide event will be “A special, luxurious show, in beautiful surroundings with attention to detail highlights the wonderful array of cars. Our Adelaide show will incorporate two special feature displays, one celebrating the centenary of Maserati and the other, 60 Years of Mercedes-Benz S-Class”
The event will feature Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Porsche, Jaguar, Bentley, Ferrari and Aston Martin vehicles, as well as “many others” among the world’s greatest marques.
Blank is enthused about what will clearly be a very special event: “The most wonderful cars, classical music, great food and a picturesque venue... what a treat. We've put together an excellent team to bring the event to fruition and progress to date has been extremely positive.”
A visitor entry fee will form part of the fund-raising efforts and further information is available at the event's website www.classicrally.com.au.
