Fledgling Turkish car-maker Togg has taken the covers off its first-ever vehicle at the CES tech-fest in Las Vegas, announcing big plans for a full-scale global launch in the next 12 months.
Dubbed the Togg USE CASE Mobility concept, the automotive start-up’s first car comes complete with rear-hinged ‘suicide’ doors and a swanky suede-clad cabin and is the first of five models the youthful Turkish brand promises to launch before 2030.
The small SUV is also fully connected, electric and carries a high level of autonomous driving capability, bringing to life the company’s vision of smart mobility solutions and data-based business models.
“We define ourselves as a technology company. That is why we are at CES, the gathering place for the latest technological innovations and firsts,” said Togg chief executive Gurcan Karakas.

“The transformation that occurred in the mobile phone industry in response to changing user expectations is occurring in the automotive industry today.
“More agile, creative, collaborative, user-centric organisations, not necessarily the big and established brands, will be the most successful in the near future. The race in this field is just beginning, and we are in this race.”
Combining fastback styling with what Togg calls a “muscular rear design” and strong shoulder line, the concept’s interior houses multiple touch-screen displays, a sleek steering wheel and sports seats.

Powertrain and other key specifications are being kept under wraps for now.
“We defined our C-SUV smart device as user-centric, smart, empathetic, connected, autonomous, shared and electric,” said Karakas.
“The USE CASE Mobility concept, which embodies these characteristics, has been registered around the world.”
Togg describes itself as a global brand with 100 per cent Turkish intellectual and industrial property.

Its portfolio includes several smart energy solutions and the company has ambitious plans over the next decade, such as manufacturing its own batteries as part of a joint-venture with Farasis Energy.
It also plans to produce one million vehicles over five segments by 2030.
The production version of the Togg USE CASE Mobility concept will be unveiled before the end of this year, ahead of a global launch in the first quarter of 2023.
From there, a sedan and hatchback are set to follow, to be joined later on by a more compact SUV and a people-mover – all of which are said to share the same platform.
