MG Motor Australia has announced the arrival of the 2025 MG Cyberster 77kWh RWD. Joining the existing 77kWh AWD variant, the newcomer is priced from $99,900 plus on-road costs – a cool $15,100 less than the dual-motor roadster.
Producing 250kW of power and 475Nm of torque from its rear-mounted electric motor, the new variant sprints to 100km/h in 5.2 seconds. That’s 2.0 seconds more than its 375kW/725Nm sibling, but its quoted range is also 52km more than the flagship, at 552km.
And despite being cheaper, the rear-drive Cyberster largely carries over the faster dual-motor version’s standard levels of kit.
As for differences, the new Cyberster RWD sits on smaller 19-inch alloy wheels compared to the AWD’s bigger 20-inch alloys, while the Cyberster RWD gains a Nappa leather interior instead of the Alcantara upholstered seats of the AWD.
Along with the new entry model, MG has also introduced a new Mayfair Blue exterior paint for the Cyberster.
As well as the new 2025 MG Cyberster 77kWh RWD, MG Motor used the recent Shanghai motor show to announce it would produce a coupe version called the Cyberster GTS, which was inspired by the MG Cyber GTS concept that was launched last July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
No timings were given as to when the 2025 MG Cyberster GTS will be released but it's thought the all-electric coupe will arrive on sale in the second half of this year, with an announcement from MG Motor Australia on whether we’ll get it Down Under expected soon.
