The Chery automotive brand is another step closer to being re-established Down Under following the launch of the Chinese car-maker’s Australian website.
However, the website is so new it’s not actually finished yet, drawing much of its content from the Chery International website including the News and Contact sections.
Visitors to the site are also presented a Models tab that opens a dropdown menu linking to the Chery Omoda 5 – the first Chery model due to be launched here – and an intriguing ‘Coming Soon’ tab that leads nowhere.
That suggests this part of the site is still under construction or the local arm isn’t quite sure what else is coming or when. As we’ve previously reported, Chery is also expected to release other SUVs and even a ute in Australia.
Elsewhere on the site, consumers can read all about Chery’s design and technology, get up to speed on the brand’s history and find all of the Australian operation’s social media channels.
No Australian dealer locations or local Chery Omoda 5 pricing, specs or ordering details have been published yet, but the information should be released over the coming months and added to the site.
For reference, the Chery Omoda 5 is an all-new small SUV that’s due in local showrooms within the next five months and will be priced competitively against similar or incoming offerings from MG, GWM-Haval and BYD.
