As promised in October, first Australian customer deliveries of the 2022 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series have started taking place thanks to a right-hand-drive production blitz in Japan.
Similar to Isuzu Ute’s MY22 D-MAX range, the first LandCruiser deliveries are actually ahead of schedule by several weeks, with Toyota previously promising to deliver the first LC300s to Aussie customers by Christmas.
Even so, Toyota Australia sales, marketing and franchise operations vice-president Sean Hanley thanked the Japanese brand’s customers for their patience and confirmed production had returned to normal levels in Japan.
“We would like to thank our customers for their understanding. It has been a challenging few months, with COVID-19 causing production stoppages in Japan and elsewhere across the region,” he said.
“LandCruisers are now starting to land in Australia ready to be delivered to their new owners.”
While it isn’t known exactly how many LandCruisers have touched down, Hanley said customers would be able to confirm their vehicle’s rough arrival time via their preferred dealer.
“Our dealers have the latest information on customers’ individual orders and expected delivery timing, and we thank our customers again for their patience,” he said.
Just like the numbers, exactly which variants are arriving at the moment – if not the full range – also remains to be seen.
There’s been no word yet on production or delivery times of the upgraded LandCruiser 70 Series.
