Citroen C4 Picasso Lounge
What else but captain's chairs for a flagship?It wasn't like the C4 Picasso was short of space anyway, but now Citroen has developed a range-topper with even more room to spread out and relax.
Named the C4 Picasso Lounge, the new model was unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show earlier this week. The second row of seats has been replaced by two leather-clad captain's chairs, which are electrically adjustable. There's no third-row seat fitted to the C4 Picasso Lounge.
In the front, the seats are similarly trimmed with black leather, overstitching and a light-coloured lining. Both the dashboard and the door panels are enhanced by 'piano finish'.
Standard features of the car comprise tinted and laminated side windows, 18-inch polished chrome alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and a chrome 'Lounge' badge at the rear.
The change from five-seat to four-seat luxury accommodation frees up the full 500-litre luggage compartment.
When the car goes on sale in Germany at the end of this year, it will be sold with a 100kW turbodiesel engine, coupled to either an automated six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Britain will see the C4 Picasso Lounge introduced early next year. At present, the Australian distributor, Ateco Automotive, cannot confirm whether the car will be sold in Australia, as the demand for the standard C4 Picasso (more here) is out-stripping supply and almost doubling the sales forecast for the car.
