Citroen's small van, the Berlingo, has been revised for the local market, boasting enhanced safety, equipment gains and minor cosmetic touches.
A reversing camera, stability control, Hill Start Assist and traction control are now standard, as are a seven-inch touch screen, Aux/USB ports and dual sliding doors for access to the load area. The touch screen provides an interface with Apple Carplay, (Android) MirrorLink, Siri Eyes Free and Bluetooth.
The upgraded Berlingo can be distinguished by a moulded floor protector for the cargo area, a redesigned front bumper and a new colour – Gris Shark (metallic grey).
An optional 'Look Pack' (pictured), priced at $800 for the long-body variants only, adds LED daytime-running lamps, fog lights with cornering function, colour-coded bumpers/mirrors/door handles/side strips and new 15-inch Airflow wheel covers.
Mechanically unchanged, the Berlingo will be priced inclusive of on-road costs through to the end of the year.
"We were the first to offer a car-based van 20 years ago and now we will be the first to offer significant standard safety specification for professional drivers," said National Sales Manager for Citroen Australia, Shaun Mackle.
"We believe the addition of touch-screen, reverse camera, stability control and other safety equipment will appeal to sole traders and fleet managers alike – particularly those that value safety and running costs."
Pricing is as follows (with driveaway pricing in brackets):
Short body petrol – $21,990 ($22,000)
Long body turbo-diesel – $26,990 ($26,500)
Long body turbo-diesel auto – $30,990 ($30,500)
Options are: premium paint ($800), third seat/passenger airbag ($1000), Multi-flex third seat ($500), Park Assist ($500) and Look Pack ($800).
