Details of Citroen's new luxury people mover, the DS4, have emerged in the UK press.
As the images from Auto Express show, the French-made DS4 displays a sleek style that shows the French car maker's evolving design DNA.
Built to rival Ford's C-MAX family crossover vehicle, which has been a money making model for the Blue Oval in Europe, the DS4 is expected to be a premium model that sit above the Citroen DS3 city runabout.
Based on the same platform as the Australian-bound Peugeot 3008, the front-wheel drive Citroen DS4 is reported to offer sliding rear seats that can be entirely removed should more boot space be required.
The new DS4 will have a luxurious bent, as is the trend with all new Citroen models, and will be powered by typical Peugeot/Citroen powerplants, such as the 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre HDi turbodiesel motors.
While the DS3 compact car is scheduled to make its global premiere at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show in September, the Citroen DS4 is expected to officially break cover in 2010.
