Citroën's C4 dancing robot, the star of the acclaimed Citroën television advertisement for its newest model, the C4, is dancing up the Australian music charts, or rather Les Rythmes Digitales and the music for the advertisement, 'Jacques Your Body (Make Me Sweat)', has entered the Aria Australian music charts at Number 38.
Already a top five hit in the UK, both Citroën Australia and local distributor Shock Records believe that this is just a starting point.
"As the robot proves, it's a great dance tune," says Miles Williams, General Manager for Citroën in Australia, "and the advertisement has already been one of the most popular downloads ever seen on the internet. Throw in Justin Timberlake's chorographer and it has to be major hit in Australia, too!"
"And, when it comes to acid house, Les Rythmes Digitales has always been my first choice!" adds Mr Williams.
So, if Citroën is behind the C4, Justin Timberlake's chorographer, Marty Kudelka, is behind the dancing and the production houses responsible for 'Finding Nemo' produced the animation, who are Les Rhythmes Digitales?
With a name like Les Rhythmes Digitales, lead by Jacques Lu Cont and a history of being the darlings of the French nu-disco movement, alongside bands like Daft Punk, it would be tempting to think that the music's creator is as French as the car dancing to it.
But, Non. Jacques Lu Cont may have been born in the excruciatingly hip Paris suburb of Midiville, but it was while his English parents were on holiday in Paris.
