Collision of ideas at Intersection

Local version of iconic British car magazine takes an oblique look at auto issues

The iconoclastic British car magazine "Intersection", first published in Britain in 2001, is now international.

Specifically local versions are published in the USA, France, Germany, Italy, the Middle East, Japan -- and Australia.

Published quarterly, the stylish coffee table mag takes an alternative view of motoring, embracing subjects you'd not normally expect.

For example, the local publisher tells us the issue just on sale embraces subjects as diverse as Star Trek's Zachary Quinto -- who is today's version of Doctor Spock -- a fold-up personal aircraft and an electric sports bike from the USA.

The glossy magazine is aimed at appealing to "fellow travellers who see cars, boats, bikes and aircraft as much more than a means of transport."

The second Australian edition of Intersection is on the newsstand now, priced at $9.95.
