A global debut of the Skoda Enyaq in its home capital of Prague may be cause for a celebration, but there could also be extra kudos coming for the electric SUV from Down Under.
If, that is, the Czech car-maker’s new EV flagship is the first next-generation Volkswagen Group battery-electric vehicle to go on sale in Australia.
The Skoda Enyaq is built on VW Group’s new dedicated-EV platform, MEB, employing the same mechanicals as the Golf-sized Volkswagen ID.3 hatch and its SUV stablemate, the Volkswagen ID.4.
But as it stands, the Skoda is the hot favourite to beat its VW cousins to market Down Under.
