Continental has launched its answer to the Michelin PilotSport 4S – the Continental SportContact 7 – in Australia.
Described by its creators as the brand’s “most advanced ultra-high-performance tyre” ever offered Down Under, the new SportContact 7 is said to deliver six and eight per cent better braking performance in the dry and wet respectively, while offering up to a 17 per cent increase in tyre life compared to the SportContact 6.
An improved rubber compound pairs with an ‘adaptive’ new tread pattern to deliver more dynamic performance in just about every feasible road condition, including changing ones, says Continental.

While we’re yet to sample them, the new flagship Contis must’ve impressed the folks at Audi HQ, because they’re included as optional equipment on the RS 6 Avant Performance and, according to Continental, set to be offered as standard on the 2024 RS 6 Avant.
“The Continental SportContact 7 is a truly ground-breaking entry to the ultra-high-performance tyre sector, proving again and again to be leading the category in tyre tests across the board,” said Continental Tyres Australia managing director Mitchell Golledge.
“We’re proud to announce the launch of this tyre in Australia – especially after the exceptional performance reviews it has attained across the globe. We couldn’t be more thrilled to see the SportContact 7 arrive.”
The new SportContact 7 is now available Down Under in 12 sizes spanning 18- to 20-inch wheels.
