Dubai Police have added a Lamborghini Temerario to their famously over-the-top patrol fleet, so any crook planning a getaway on Sheikh Zayed Road should probably think again.

The idea of using one of the world’s fastest and most powerful Lamborghini’s to chase down crims is a compelling one… but you can stop picturing high-speed chases, though.
Sadly, this Temerario will mostly work tourist hotspots for the Tourist Police Department. Its job is to be photographed, not to chase anyone down.
“These vehicles help people feel safe, showcase Dubai’s positive image to visitors from around the world, and raise awareness of police services and public safety,” said Brigadier Saeed Al Hajri, director of Dubai Police's General Department of Criminal Investigation.

Still, it has the hardware to catch just about anyone.
A new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 makes 588kW and 730Nm. It revs to 10,000rpm and with a trio of e-motors adding more mumbo, they produce 677kW and 1000Nm, sent through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
It's good for 0-100km/h in 2.7sec and 343km/h flat out.
In Australia, it starts at $613,885 plus on-road costs before you touch the options list. Realistically, you wouldn’t be getting much change from a million bucks once on-road costs are added.

Only a few months ago, Dubai Police appeared to trade their Lambos for a BYD-built Denza B8 plug-in hybrid. Clearly the supercar habit was hard to kick.
They aren't the only cops with a Temerario either.
Italy's Polizia di Stato recently got one too, but uses it to rush donor organs across the country. That follows the Urus Performante the Italians put on the autostrada in 2023.
Back home, most Aussie cops make do with BMW 5 Series and 3 Series sedans. NSW Police sometimes roll out a Porsche 911 to keep hoons honest.
Dubai has gone a step further, with a Lambo that's mainly there to pose for tourist photos.
