Playing catch-up with the competition, Ford’s entry-level Focus Ambiente hatchbacks and sedans now include cruise control as part of the standard equipment line-up.
This brings the Focus Ambiente into line with entry-level segment competitors, including the Mazda3, Holden Cruze, Nissan Pulsar, Hyundai i30, Mitsubishi Lancer and Toyota Corolla – although it falls short of the higher-tech speed-controlling brake function seen in base Volkswagen Golf, Honda Civic and Hyundai i30 three-door hatch.
Both the base Focus and the second-rung Trend model now also offer adjustable lumbar support for both driver and front passenger – although this is a $50 option, not standard.
Cruise control comes on top of standard Focus Ambiente equipment including Ford’s SYNC voice-control system, Bluetooth connectivity, power side mirrors and power central locking.
