Cupra teases radical future interior design

Spanish performance brand teases show car for Munich that will signpost future styling direction

Cupra has released a new teaser to build anticipation for its new concept car that will be revealed at the upcoming 2025 Munich motor show this September.

Teasing a picture of an all-new cabin that looks similar to the one unveiled in the 2023 DarkRebel concept, the new image features a yoke-like steering wheel, central spine evolved from the all-electric Tavascan and a pair of racing bucket seats.

No details have been released about what car the new cabin design will be attached to, but Cupra has said the fresh concept will blend “human and machine, where the driving experience and emotions reach their fullest expression”.

As well as previewing what will happen inside future Cupras, it’s been hotly tipped the new concept will also give us our clearest look yet at the firm’s next chapter of exterior design.

Cupra says its new show car will be unwrapped alongside its production-spec 2026 Cupra Raval that’s been created to rival other small European EVs like the Renault 5 E-Tech, as well as the sportier Alpine A290, MINI Cooper Electric and Abarth 600e.

Developed alongside the all-new Volkswagen ID.2, the Raval has already been confirmed for the Australian market where it will slot into the range as Cupra’s new entry model.

Likely to be powered by a single 166kW e-motor, the Raval sits on the MEB Entry platform and will be offered with either a 38kWh or a 56kWh battery, the latter offering a range of up to 440km.

DC charging can be done at up to 125kW, with a 10-80 per cent top-up likely to take less than 30 minutes.

Exact local timing has yet to be announced, but the Cupra Raval should land here either in late 2025 or the first half of 2026.
