Following Codemasters' successful V8 Supercars 2, version three features all the cars and tracks from the 2005 V8 Supercar season, and includes a variety of motorsport such as rallying, sprint car, even truck racing. Players can choose from over 70 race cars on tracks ranging from Symmons Plains to Shanghai.
We've been playing V8 Supercars 3 for PC and are impressed with the life-like graphics and attention to race car dynamics.
In some of the championships players can change race car set-up with upgrades, a la Gran Turismo, and big fields (up to 21 cars) mean close racing.
There's lots of realistic noise which adds to the experience and the inclusion of new tracks like Bahrain International is thoughtful.
Players, like real racers, are required to pay attention to damage control and observe racing etiquette: untidy sideways action will cause doors to fly open and you'll be called in to the pits in the V8 Supercar Championship for a stop-go penalty for too much argy-bargy... All 'round a lot of fun for any wannabe racer.
