Dacia has announced it will rebrand its entire car-making operation with the Dacia Link emblem that was first previewed on the 2022 Dacia Bigster SUV.
The Renault-owned Romanian-based brand says the new logo, which looks like chopped links of chain, draws inspiration from the ‘D’ and ‘C’ in Dacia.
Designed to have a pared-back minimalist look, the new logo is thought to have been styled to have more visual impact than the brand’s current shield logo.
Claimed to reflect the “robust simplicity of the new design” that’s used on all its cars, the stripped-back logo is also reminiscent of Dacia’s budget positioning in the marketplace.
At the rear-end, all models including the Dacia Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Jogger, Duster and all-electric Spring will feature ‘DACIA’ branding in a white, blocky font on the tailgate.
Commenting on the new logo, Dacia Design boss David Durand said: “The streamlined logo is highly symbolic of the brand’s focus on getting back to basics.
“Similarly, the Dacia Link emblem evokes simplicity and robustness. It also carries the symbolism of the link, a strong element of the Dacia community.”
The new Dacia logo is set to be introduced on models sold within Europe from the second half of 2022, but Australians won't see it as the Dacia models due to arrive here from 2024 will be rebadged as Renaults.
The first of them will be the third-generation Dacia Duster small SUV, followed by the bigger, all-new Dacia Bigster mid-size SUV in 2025 and the next-gen Dacia Oroch in 2026.
